Fisheries Biologists spill the beans
We sit on the porch and talk with D6 North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission Biologist Casey Grieshaber and Lawrence Dorsey, NCWRC's Piedmont Region Fisheries Research Coordinator. This episode is packed with information pertaining to Morone species and species found in the Yadkin/Pee Dee River system. We talk about the subtle differences between white bass and white perch as well as the genetic research surrounding stocked landlocked striped bass. We talk about the rare and beautiful Robust Redhorse and the less than 50 fish that remain in the wild. We discuss invasive species and their impacts in our waterways. We talk about habitat management as it pertains to fisheries. We also talk about specific locations and what the professionals feel is the best opportunities for anglers. We talk about certifying state records and what to do when you catch your record breaker.
